One is silver and the other gold.
While flipping through the stations on television, I love it when a channel is projecting this jumpy, high-pitched, synthetic sound and I immediately know it’s an 80s movie. And sure enough Arnold makes his on-screen appearance in 1985’s Commando.
Okay, then Twilight comes on and now I see the hype. When Edward stares at Bella, it’s like he’s looking at me. Wow. The intensity. Team Edward!
We have hot water. I have taken three baths since then.
I’m starting to forget names of people I went to school with. Is this what getting older feels like? Memory loss?
I’ve been breaking down a film script that may or may not happen. I came out here with certain expectations and only one has been met - meeting new friends. Forget the film career aspirations, forget the money!
Seriously though, friendships around the world are treasures and that’s what I’m holding on to.
I am constantly thinking, “Why am I here? What is the purpose?” Maybe I won’t know until way down my life line, but I am very grateful for the people I’ve got to know so far.
I’m becoming more comfortable here. I went to eat in this really cool village for dinner the other night with the guys (Luke was working). It felt like I was experiencing more of Pakistan for the first time. We ate wonderful foods - meat was a little spicy, but terrific sauces - and enjoyed the atmosphere. The dinner table was lit by two lanterns - they turned off the outdoor lights because of too many bugs. Handmade beds were our “chairs” at the dinner table. It was great - you could sit back and relax after eating a bunch of food. They told me that people take the beds up on their roof, during the winter, and sleep under the stars. I would love that.
I’m excited to go home and share recipes of some delicious foods. Speaking of food - it’s time for my 3:00AM breakfast.
