We have arrived in Dubai!! Some people were clapping when the plane landed.  Man, after riding on a plane for 16 hours-ish, your body feels weird.  Slightly off its regular clock, a little smelly and yearning to exercise, but sleepy from sitting so long.  Hmm.  I get off the plane, go through a tiny security area, walk up stairs and there it is: STARBUCKS.  How can one coffee place be worldwide???  Their coffee isn’t even that good.  So, okay, I admit, I sit down right away, hoping to blend in.  And I do…I think.  No one is staring, I’m not sticking out like a sore thumb.  Everyone is doing their own thing - traveling to their own destination.  One guy just asked me to take his photo at Starbucks with his apple laptop.  I thought I was going to experience a different culture!!!  And here I am, sitting at Starbucks, apple computers around me.  Most of the airports I’ve been to are like this though — different from the actual city its in — more “westernized” if that’s what you call it.  There’s a sign with an arrow pointing to where showers are.  I’m kinda tempted, but won’t do it.  OH!!  Almost forgot- back at LAX, I was stressing out about having enough money to pay for all of those extra boxes, but the nicest guy at the check-in counter only charged me for 5 boxes!!!  How amazing is that?  See, things work out.  We spend so much time stressing about things that usually have already worked itself out.  

Okay, I’ll probably do another entry from Dubai, because my layover is about 6.5 hours.  I’m going to wash my hands.
